Questions and answers
What is KaziLink?
KaziLink is a Kenyan marketplace where families and businesses find nannies, househelps, cooks, drivers, caregivers and other workers. Workers create profiles and employers post jobs; employers pay by M-Pesa only to unlock what they need.
How much does it cost to hire through KaziLink?
Browsing is free. Unlocking a full profile costs KES 100, opening a chat costs KES 50 and seeing a phone number costs KES 200. There is no agency fee. You agree the salary directly with the worker.
How are workers verified?
Workers verify in levels without sending any documents: the team checks their phone and photo, does a short phone or video interview, and calls their references. Each profile shows its level and when each check was done.
How do I pay?
By M-Pesa. When you unlock a profile, chat or number, an M-Pesa prompt appears on your phone. Enter your PIN and the unlock happens as soon as the payment is confirmed.
Is it free for workers?
Yes. Creating a profile is free. Employers find them by job and area, and unlock their number or chat to contact them.
Can I find workers near me?
Yes. If you allow location, each profile shows how far the worker is from you and you can sort by nearest. Exact locations are never shown, only the distance.
Where does it work?
Anywhere in Kenya. Most workers are in Nairobi and other major towns. Search by area, for example Kilimani, Westlands, Kasarani, Rongai or Thika.
How do I stay safe when hiring?
Prefer verified workers, read the references, meet in a public place first, agree the salary and duties in writing, and never send money to a worker before they start. Report any profile that asks for money.
